Shivalik Public School celebrated Teachers’day with its faculty members of all the branches in the school auditorium of Mohali branch today. The function started with the lighting of the lamp by the school revered Director Mr. D.S. Bedi. After that the Almighty’s blessings were sought as the music faculty presented Saraswati Vandana and school shabad. After this, a tribute was paid to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great philosopher and the second President of India.  A presentation was presented to highlight the life of this great educationist of India. The function began with an impressive PPT which emphasized the need of “Teacher as an agent of change in 21st century”. Another PPT based on the topic “learner centered teaching” was taken up. The need of innovative teaching strategies like conceptual learning was highlighted through a PPT. After this cultural program full of colorful bonanza started with variety of dances, group songs and skits which brought forth the latent talent of teachers.

Award Ceremony - “Teacher”, the very word brings forth many emotions like reverence, admiration, awe and much more. Teachers play a pivotal role in our society and it won’t be wrong to say that they are the builders of a nation. To honor the distinguished services of faculty members the following teachers Ms.  Ekta Parashar, Ms. Suman Anand, Ms. Gogi Gupta, Ms. Kulmeet. Ms. Maoushmi, Ms. Jashmin, Ms. Daisy Grewal, Ms. Hardeep, Ms. Deepika Luthra, Ms. Inderjeet Kaur, Ms. Teena Chora, Ms. Kiranjot Kaur, Ms. Seema Sharma, Ms. Asha Menon and Ms. Satinder Pal Kaur were awarded with cash prize, memento and the shawl. Director of the school Mr. D.S. Bedi motivated and appreciated teachers and paid homage to the role of teachers in expanding the learners’ horizons and also to put the spot light on the expanding horizons for teachers in the new knowledge society of the 21st century. In the end, sumptuous lunch was enjoyed by the teachers.
